Bedroom - you start to get a feeling for the space here - cool windows. Good thing we don't have any neighbors.

Boys at lunch - even though the sun's out, it's still cold!

Master bedroom from the courtyard area

Arno helped put the living room wall up. I wish I'd been there!

Front of the house - master bedroom area

We've had some great weather for building a house the last few weeks, but it was bound to change. This is Michigan in March after all! So the guys worked some overtime to make up for the predicted two days of rain. I was amazed when I pulled up in the driveway and saw a house back there - holy cow!

March 11 - 18

Sorry for the posting delay - we had some technical difficulty with the camera (ie, we forgot to bring it out to the site all week). We now have sub floors and they're working on framing. We should be all framed up by the end of this week.

Meanwhile, we're working on getting the Waite house ready to sell. Anyone interested in a four bedroom, center hall colonial in the Promise district? Once that's on the market, things will settle down for me. Just sorting, junking, and packing....

Everyone on the porch!

Look - we have walls, waterproofing and the gizmo that protects us from radon!

Builder Bruce Pennings

What happened last week?

We had busy builders. They managed to get the forms up for the walls and concrete poured through the rain, sleet, ice and snow. The concrete trucks were half full so they could make the road restrictions, but they still managed to get the big pumper truck in. The scaffolding went up to hold the Sonotube structure for the screen porch (who knew a screen porch could be such an issue?).

home again home again....

Look! We have a potty - and more snow. At least we have place to go when we hang out at the site with a 6 pack.

greetings from Florida

And glad to be here too! I hear that the snow and cold aren't going to let up until I'm home again - Arno says that I plotted with his dad to get out of the end of winter. So, I'm throwing this in here just so you can see how pretty Ft. Walton Beach is...
